Winbind problems; DFS Replication

Hello all,
I experience problems in following config:
W2k3 pdc
2 samba4 bdc
1 of them resides on the clientside of vpn.
When there is a comm.failure over the vpn (connectionfailure & reconnect)
winbind failes to recognise users and groups.
A killall samba && samba resolves it.
Any clues?

Second question: w2k3 can't see samba4 as suitable replicationpartner for
dfs.  Any clues how to solve this?
