Hello All,

I have compiled Samba 4.0 from source and am unable to make it work properly. When running " smbclient -L -U%" I get the following output:
root at NETS1-TEST:~# smbclient -L -U%
Unknown parameter encountered: "announce as"
Ignoring unknown parameter "announce as"

        Sharename Type Comment
        --------- ---- -------
        netlogon Disk
        sysvol Disk
        IPC$ IPC IPC Service
REWRITE: list servers not implemented

Notice the lack of ADMIN$ Share and the error at the bottom.

My Samba Version output:
root at NETS1-TEST:~# net -V; smbclient -V
Version 4.0.0alpha16
Unknown parameter encountered: "announce as"
Ignoring unknown parameter "announce as"
Version 4.0.0alpha16
This is the provision command I ran: ./source4/setup/provision --domain=NETWORK --adminpass=y at nk33s# --server-role="domain controller"

I have included /usr/local/samba/private/named.conf into /etc/named.conf and have verified all DNS entries. When I call samba_dnsupdate --verbose after the long list of DNS entries the last line reads "No DNS updates Needed" and DIG/ping confirm my DNS record:
root at NETS1-TEST:~# ping
PING ( 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from icmp_req=1 ttl=64 time=0.016 ms

I also attempted to join a machine (Windows 7 Enterprise) to the domain but received a message that the domain was reachable but there was no AD DC available to process my request.

I have gotten the same results from GIT compilation and Alpha 16. I am running Slackware64 Linux NETS1-TEST #3 SMP Sat Apr 9 22:49:32 CDT 2011 x86_64

Thank in advance,

Ted S.
