For the record, the directory ACL is:

drwx--s--x+ 3 henson csupomona 6 Jan 11 13:02 .
            owner@:rwxpdDaARWcC--:------:allow

However, the problem comes and goes from just changing the file acl, it
doesn't seem the directory permissions are involved. In particular,
renaming via smbclient works fine, the failure on the windows client seems
to be an acl interpretation issue on the client side, not a permission
denied issue on the server.

Oh, and the test client is windows server 2008R2, if that matters.
