nmbd won't start after upgrade from 3.0.30.0 to 3.5.8.0 on AIX6100-06-03-1048

Update:
1) Tried reinstalling pware61 filesets 3.5.8.0, nmbd and smbd still won't
start.
2) Rebooted server per Ted S. suggestion..... nmbd and smbd processes
started.
3) Successfully mapped drive to fileshare! but quickly had to stop nmbd
process as the following error was filling up /var/syslog/daemon.log
and /var/log/samba/log.nmbd  files and max'd out the /var filesystem.
