Thanks Bill for your response! I'll check pWare site periodically for
updates.

Note:
- Stopped "nmbd & smbd" processes prior to uninstalling 3.0.30.0.
- Ran "ps -ef | grep nmbd" after 3.5.8.0 install and no nmbd process was
running.
- Successfully installed pware61 samba 3.5.8.0 on another AIX
6100-06-03-1048 box w/out issue?
- I'm going to continue to investigate on my side and will share any
relevant info.

Best Regards,
John

The 5.3 code will work fine. I will look into the issue with 6.1. Stay
tuned to the pWare site for any updates.

Is there any chance the nmbd from the 3.0 series might have still been
running and bound to the socket?

Cheers,
Bill
