[PATCH] smbclient timeout option

Hi,

I have found the patch that Mark Weaver submitted here for a smbclient
timeout flag almost two years ago:

but unfortunately that thread is empty and the patch didn't seem to get
accepted into the source (I'm looking at a fresh build of samba 3.5.6).

I have a similar requirement and google shows me that others (eg
http://cias.rit.edu/~jpspgd/wordpress/?p=27) have also trodden the same
path. Is it worth refreshing Mark's patch or are there good reasons why
the original wasn't accepted?

If such a patch would be acceptable then I can volunteer to do the
refresh.
