but that's not the point. When a group of people working for company N did the
translation, then company N is the copyright holder, not the employee who did
the translation him- or herself. A copyright holder can transfer it's copyright
to anyone else. In this case N told Lars that he is the new copyright holder.
That's being done this way to match the Samba checkin policy (and to reduce the 
bureaucratic overhead I guess). This is how it was done many times before in
other companies who added code to Samba, too. You cannot force a company to
give the copyright to the person, who did the actual work.

I think what you are talking about are credits - but that's a different thing,
which has nothing to do with copyright in this case.
