Successor to v3-5-test ?

It seems to me that branching off v3-6-test even before3.5.0 is released 
mostly creates extra work for people checking in bug fixes and new features.
Of course Karolin has the final call there, but I would think that branching 
off v3-6-test to allow features to stabilize could be done about a month 
before the scheduled release date.
