Status of WMI in Samba 4?

I'm curious about the status of WMI in Samba 4, since we're currently
using the wmic executable with Dmitry's escape_string() patch from bug
#6076 (1) to access WMI on Windows.

On May 22, 2009 there was a "Current status of WMI support in Samba 4"
(2) thread where the outlook wasn't so positive.

Later, on Sep 22, 2009 in bug 6076 (2) Matthias Dieter Wallnöfer writes:
 > Later we need to reintroduce this file (after the WMI merge).

Is that merge still scheduled to happen? May I ask for an updated status
of WMI in Samba 4? I'm hoping we can end up with a released version of
Samba4 with Dmitry's patch in there at some point...

Also, I'm not sure I'm looking in the right repository:

The "Current status of WMI support in Samba 4"(2) thread said to look at
the com branch in git://git.samba.org/jelmer/samba.git and the wmi
branch in git://git.samba.org/jelmer/samba4.git if "I should wish to
develop on this". Looking at those the last commits were Sep 19 2008 and
Sep 15 2008 respectively. But the master branch in
git://git.samba.org/samba.git seems to have slightly newer commits. That
is also where Dmitry's patch(1) was applied.
