I tested the patches now and I noticed that the change you made to samdb_rodc relies on having msDS-isRODC, which turned out to be constructed attribute that doesn't get replicated to our db. How to fix that?
1. Create msDS-isRODC attribute 
2. Revert to checking for objectCategory - the easiest.
