tight loop in tdb_find()

This is only a problem on old databases, right?  That is, with
transactional tdb, shouldn't this be impossible?

(Not that I object to checking for the impossible anyway, even if we had
implemented transactions since the start, but I just wanted to ensure I
understood the problem space)
