CTDB setup: private dir on clustered filesystem?

Most of the page <http://wiki.samba.org/index.php/CTDB_Setup> states 
that "private dir" should reside in shared, clustered storage. However, 
its section for IBM GPFS seems to contradict that.

Which section is correct, or does it matter if one is using GPFS vs. the 
other filesystems? (If this wiki is current for setting up Clustered Samba.)
