Old (2004) CIFS docs from Microsoft appear to have a new license.

Way back in 2004 Microsoft released some CIFS docs under a "Royalty Free"
license that had some terms that were GPL-unfriendly.

That older set of docs is still on Microsoft's website, but the link to the
"Royalty Free" license now points to the more recent (2006) Microsoft Open
Specification Promise. I am, of course, not a lawyer so I don't know if the
change indicates that the old license no longer applies.

Thoughts?
