Well, I don't mind for the default, as soon as I have an option to tweak
locations individually. Please, don't forget about non-Linux
distributions, which have their own  guidlines for what should be
installed where. For us(FreeBSD), a lot of FHS defaults are not
acceptable really and either we have normal mechanisms to tweak them
or have to patch configure/configure.ac directly. I'd rather avoid that
and pass necessary options via command line.
