I've updated the branch (same url)
and added a --enable-talloc-compat1 (default = no) switch and moved the
compat code to compat/talloc_compat1.*

The result is a libtalloc-compat1-2.0.0.so with soname being 'talloc.so.1'.

I'd like Simo todo some runtime test with the compat library.
And I'll also do some more tests...
