windows server authentication problem

Hi,

I've got a problem to get authentication from windows 2003 server, but the
setup is a bit  different from normal setup :

When I connect from windows machine (svr1) to a samba share with itself also
the authenticate server , therefore svr1 has 2 roles , authentication server
and client, but it will fail with :

> auth/auth_server.c:check_smbserver_security(363) password server svr1
rejected the password 

what does it mean by the 'password reject' message ? it only happens when
the authentication server and the client is the same machine. 

here is my setup : 
        Machine A : windows 2003 server (svr1)
        samba server : CentOS 4.4 kernel 2.6.9-42 
        Samba version : 3.0.10 

        smb.conf : 
        security = server 
        password server = svr1

please help. I am stuck at this point for my project.
