I just checked and it looks like there might be some
outstanding patches still in my tree.  The problem is due to
a possible path that may deadlock.

However, I think the reason the docs mention not to use it
is more reader confusion by failures that nscd keeps repeating
when you are first installing a Samba/Winbind host.
