SEC_FILE_APPEND_DATA vs SEC_FILE_WRITE_DATA ???

Hi!

Does someone know what the difference between the two access
flags APPEND_DATA and WRITE_DATA for files means? I tried
giving a user just APPEND_DATA but not WRITE_DATA rights on
a 10-byte file, but I can perfectly write the first byte.
Sniffs available upon request.

Confused...
