Failed to init inotify - Function not implemented

Hi,

I get a lot of these errors in the syslog:

Oct 10 11:54:52 HOPS smbd[11524]: [2007/10/10 11:54:52, 0]
smbd/notify_inotify.c:inotify_setup(278)
Oct 10 11:54:52 HOPS smbd[11524]:   Failed to init inotify - Function not
implemented

they show up for all pids of smbd, always for a pid in a row.

/usr/include/linux/inotify.h exists.

No other errors regarding inotify. Also no noticeable faulty behaivour of
samba.
Runing Samba Version 3.0.26a on Debian 2.6.8 Kernel.

How could get rid of that error?
