Sure, anything you can provide will make it go faster.  In fact, if
you can provide a patch that makes it work, that'll make things go
MUCH faster. :-)  Yes, packet dumps will make things easier.  Please
attach them to the bug.

It may be possible to determine that it _is_ a junction, but I highly
doubt it's possible to follow it using the SMBv1 functionality.  This
is all conjecture, however, at this point.  One of my first steps when
I start working on this (and you could do similarly now if you'd like)
will be to look at what Samba4 has accomplished with respect to
junctions.  There are likely already some useful torture tests
pertaining to them.
