Jeremy & Guenther,

Did either of your ever test out starting up Winbindd
in an offline state with an idmap backend other than
the default tdb? The reason I'm wondering is that the
offline design doesn't seem to play well with the idmap
initialization code. Am I missing something here?

I'm looking into the current SAMBA_3_0_25 code and
prior to the idmap interface changes (svn co r21177 SAMBA_3_0_25).
Specifically look at the call to verify_idpool(). If this
fails, then the entire idmap_init() call will fail.

cheers, jerry
