data missing in general tab for vista PnP

Hi,
when i do PnP between vista and samba print server in general tab printer properties such as stapling supported, color, ppm etc are missing. where as when i do pnp between vista and winxp all the printer properties are getting populating properly. in ethereal getprinterdata packets are not getting exchanged between vista-samba and vista-winxp. but in vista-winxp scenario the printer properties are getting populated properly... can some one let me know what's the new implemention that Microsoft has done in vista to retrive printer properties without using getprinterdata request.....
