It is working very well for me and should replace other platforms that have the same "space between conversions" requirement.
My concern was that it is from the Wireshark tree (C source from glibc, header from Gerald Combs), is GPL2'd and needed sign off on that part. I simply wrapped it in m4 strptime failure detection code, fixed the NULL pointer detection and put it at DEBUG 2 reporting level in case we still fail.
If that's a go, I can make sure it's solid in the RC1 code tree.
