print char values in uint8 streams ?

Any chance of gett pidl to dump the char values (in
addition to the hex value) for uint8 streams in the
rpc server code?

For example, it would be helpful to be able to read the
UNICODE string in the data array here.  We used to have
this with the hand written code.
