reagrding bug#2874

I am facing a problem similar to bug#2874 of samba.  I am trying to
authenticate, change password of a user account from Samba against
Windows 2003 AD server.

And after change of password, I can login with both old and new
passwords!

I went through the thread of the bug but could not exactly figure out
the reason behind this.

Could any one please explain the reason behind this odd behavior?
