So what we have here is a tension between the needs of Samba,
and the needs of an employer. I'm very familiar with such
problems, I had to create (barf) a setuid program recently
for just such an issue (don't ask, I'm embarrassed about it :-).

Sometimes there are needs for such things, but if there's contention
about the best way to implement things then in the main tree might
not be the best place.

In this case what we might do is have an area of the Wikki for "Samba
plug-ins" - code/patches that might not be in the main tree and is maintained
by the individual authors but is a central point from which Samba
users and admins can get the code - without it being "blessed" by
being in an official release.

Comments anyone ?
