Samba hangs (pthread?)

Ok.. lot of discussion on the subject, but more to the point now:

What can I do to fix this problem?

I tried moving /lib/tls away so smbd was no longer linked to tls
libraries, as suggested by Jelmer, but that didn't work.

Will using a non-threaded LDAP result in more problems as Steve
Langasek claimed?
