Mostly, I'm not looking at the mapping question, which I've asked Martin
to focus on (and forms the bulk of his proposal).  My short-term
objectives involve AD-like objectClasses, rather than a more traditional
LDAP structure. 

It should also inform Martin's efforts, hopefully fix some of the more
subtle bugs that exist in our module stack and allow me to be a more
effective mentor in this space.  (I don't expect to proceed massively in
this after the end of this week).

In terms of infrastructure, Martin proposed to avoid the need for a
partitions module, but I've provided that, so his work-around should no
longer be required.

Indeed, the discussion should be here.  Martin asked Tridge and I some
questions privately, but Martin, I think this is your cue...
