This is strange. Perhaps this is one of the differences
between LsaLookupSids() and LsaLookupSids2(). I wondered
when I was making the change. Right now we use the same
internal implementation for both calls.
See the attached tarce and look at packet 440 (sent
by a Windows XP box).
