I'm more concerned about you.  Only that I don't want you to have
any code tossed aside.  If smbd will not authenticate root, then 'net
sam rights' on masks the problem.

The solution I think is to not rely only root but simply have
membership in the BUILTIN\Administrators group.  Once you have
that hurdle beaten, then adding rights over rpc is easy.  Bypassing
an existing and working API simply because of authentication
failures will lead us to grief I believe.

I trust you.  So if you are ok with seeing 80% code shipped, then
do what you like and we'll weed out any parts everyone doesn't
agree on during code review.

I'll spend the flight home on Saturday looking at trunk.
Don't let me knew stress you out about this or anything though.
I just haven't drank the 'kool-aid yet :-)
