[SAMBA4] Winbindd DC lookup

Volker,

I'm trying to understand how the code in Samba4's winbindd works, in
particular as it regards lookups of domain controllers.

In Samba3, you put a lot of effort into a routine to asynchronously
resolve names, fire getdc requests back at those names connect to the
first one that would return.

Did you ever do such a thing in Samba4? I can't find it if it's there.

The only code I can find is that in wb_async_helpers.c (unused?) and
wb_init_domain.c. What is the story here? Were you intending to
transition to the code in wb_async_helpers (which looks useable outside
winbindd), or did you specialise that code into winbindd?

I'm actually trying to make it possible to have a 'import from windows'
pane in SWAT in samba4, just like we have for 'import from Samba3'.
This requires better name resolution code, which is why I'm here...

Any chance you can clarify this a bit?

Thanks,

Andrew Bartlett
