samba v3 - winbindd -B -Y options gone?

Has the ability to run winbindd in a single process been removed?

The documentation still lists a -Y option to fall back to a single 
process behavior at:

http://samba.org/samba/docs/man/manpages-3/winbindd.8.html

And even though -B is now default, is there a way to restore the 
previous behavior?
