browsing large windows network environments

Hi,

I have a problem browsing large windows network environments (about
2700 hosts). The problem is in an inconsistent list returned by
the server, that is never complete (using smbclient or 'net view' or the
explorers 'network environment' on windows). When using 'net view' I
get an error message: "More data is available than can be returned by
Windows" (error 3515). The environment contains several versions of
samba and windows servers. The WINS Server is a samba 3.0.21b. Its
browse.dat contains all known hosts, but no other samba server in the
network has a complete browse.dat (about 50 to 200 entries are
missing).

Does anyone know anything about such a problem? Or might samba4WINS help
to solve the problem?

Any experience or help is appreciated.

Regards,

Andreas
