Hello!
RMAN 9.2 is being used to backup Oracle 8.1.7 files on Windows 2000
server to a samfs filesystem in Solaris 9 through samba 2.2.12 shares.
It can output the files to the samfs file system in Solaris, but RMAN
does not get communication back about the file creation and outputs the
following error:
RMAN-03007: retryable error occurred during execution of command: backup
RMAN-07004: unhandled exception during command execution on channel
Channel1
RMAN-10035: exception raised in RPC: ORA-19510: failed to set size of
4530608 blocks for file
"\\NOCSAM01-P\NOCOR01F\INC0_AGIL_1011_1_568293022" (blocksize=512)
ORA-27068: skgfdisp: buffer is not aligned properly
OSD-04005: SetFilePointer() failure, unable to read from file
O/S-Error: (OS 6) The handle is invalid.
RMAN-10031: ORA-19624 occurred during call to
DBMS_BACKUP_RESTORE.BACKUPPIECECREATE
RMAN>
RMAN> **end-of-file**
We were able to backup those files successfully in the past, but
suddenly it stopped working.
The message suggests it is some buffer sizing issue, but I do not have a
clue on how to properly size the SAMBA buffer which is also used for
other kind of Windows files besides Oracle.
Please HELP!
Thank you so much for your attention,
Agda
