Time synchronization requirement in Samba 3.0.x

I am new to Samba 3.0.x and so this question might seem  trivial. I
understand in order to Kerberos authentication to work correctly, the
client, server and the KDC must be synchronized in time. Is it an external
requirement that administrator must insure as a prerequisite or does samba
play any role in that. In other words, does Samba synchronize the time of
the server with that of the KDC? I would appreciate any answer.
