[PATCH] whitespace cleanups for fs/cifs/file.c

I lurk on the list and didn't comment last time but there is one aspect
of this patch that I think is "bad" style. The function declaration should
not be on the same line with the type. Why? Try to find the file where a
function is defined instead of used. If you grep "^funcname" you'll find
it quite simply. The same is true in YFE (mine being vi) /^funcname gets
me there in one shot.
This may not seem an important thing but when you are coming into a
project cold and don't know how anything works or where it lives it
can be very important. Consider trying to find where some common
function from a library is defined in a project with sever 1000 files.
I now return you to your regularly scheduled programming.

Subject: [PATCH] whitespace cleanups for fs/cifs/file.c
Hi Steve,
A while back I submitted a previous version of this patch and got a bunch
of good feedback from people on LKML and elsewhere. I believe I cleaned up
the issues they reported and I've now updated the patch for 2.6.11 and
resubmit it to you for potential inclusion.
A lot of the changes are arguably a matter of style and preference, but
since several different styles are used in the code I've tried to at least
make it consistent. There should be no actual impact on the generated
object file from this, merely changes to make it more readable to the
human eye, more grep friendly, and slightly more adherent to the 80chars
pr line rule... I never got a clear ACK/NACK from you on this patch, but I
see that a few of the changes in the previous version are in 2.6.11 - it
would be nice if you could send me an ack/nack on this one, if you don't
want these changes I might as well drop it. I've cut this patch on top of
the one I send a few hours ago with the fix for the copy_to_user warning,
hope that's OK.
There are still some cleanups to be made in fs/cifs/file.c . There are
some unnessesary casts that can go the way of the Dodo (I believe Domen
Puncer is working on those - need a hand there Domen?), and there are also
a lot of unnesssary if (foo) kfree(foo); constructs - since kfree()
deals fine with NULL pointers, a lot of those can go as well. I've not
included such changes in this patch to nut mix things up and keep this one
about whitespace changes only, but if you are interrested in such further
cleanups I'll get to work and submit patches to you.
