Stacey, this has been covered a lot in the past.
You best bet for locating the information you need to is
search http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/ for "samba cr lf".
In short, smbd will not modify the contents of files for you.
You can try the translate option to smbclient.
And in the future, this Q is better sent to the
general samba mailing list, not the developer's list.
