No. It's a *lot* easier. We also have to search for 'primaryGroupId=<rid>'.

I've now got a group with >5800 non-primary members and winbind does it just
fine. Although the loop looking for the SID and name after the range-retrieval
search looks sort of suboptimal. Lots of work to do :-)
