Very nice GUI design! It's the one thing that’s been nagging me with
samba for years

Have you given any thought to changing the functionality slightly?

Just looking at the screenshots, I've had a few ideas pop into my head.
By day I'm a samba sysadmin and an intranet developer by night, so I'd
be happy to help out a bit, if you think I could be of any assistance

I've noticed the 'Current view is Basic/Advanced' bit and then the
redundant buttons below. You could use the onClick() event of the radio
boxes to do the same thing.

On the Status page, what about having clickable link lists of shares and
printers directly there, instead of throwing an (imho) unnecessary
further page to the user.

Keep up the good work!

Regards,

-CM

Hi, all.

I've been working slow and steady on a SWAT redesign. This project was
undertaken largely just to update the look of SWAT, to make it more
sleek and modern. In the process, I've tried to update to XHTML/CSS and
tried to make a simpler, more user-friendly interface.

As part of that user interface work, I've renamed some pages,
consolidated all the docs into a help menu, and made other small
labeling/naming tweaks. I would appreciate any testing and feedback you
all care to offer.

The new SWAT has been checked into svn TRUNK for those who want to use
it first hand. For the rest, I have a brief screenshot tour at
http://samba.org/~deryck/swat/. (Warning: large images follow. :-)

(Note: I only ensured this worked in Mozilla/Gecko-based browsers and
Konqueror. If there are other browsers being used on Linux/Unix that
aren't covered by this, please let me know. I didn't cover IE because I
figured SWAT is largely used from Linux/Unix. I'll get IE eventually,
though, just to be thorough.)

Let me know what you think. Cheers,

deryck
