My understanding is that WBEM is a XML over HTTP transport for CIM
whereas WMI is a DCOM transport.  Microsoft have a slightly different
version of CIM than the DMTF defines though but it's basically the same
thing.

I'm not convinced that there can be much of OpenPegasus that can be used
except for the WMI Mapper although I could be wrong.
