Yes, this is a limitation in smbclient. There are two types of remote
share enumeration functions -- RAP and RPC. The RAP version does not
support Unicode or share names longer than 12 characters. Samba supports
the RPC version but smbclient uses the more limited RAP version. I believe
you can successfully enumerate shares with Unicode or >12 characters using
rpcclient though.
