Yeah.  I thought I mailed you back a few weeks ago.
This can be done with the 'username map' I'm pretty sure.
So the issue is making this implicit behavior without having
to maintain the username map.

I'll figure out where that should go.  It might that your
original patch is the best choice.  I'll work on it later
this week I hope.
