Just wondered whether anyone knows of any work being done to use Samba's NTLM auth code in other *non-Squid* applications - specifically Apache. I've been looking for a suitable working NTLM auth module (or something) for Apache for some time. There are a whole load of such projects listed at http://modules.apache.org/search, but without exception they seem to be old and/or defunct and/or only partially complete.

It occured to me that if work is being done on interfacing Samba's code to Squid, then maybe it's happening with Apache as well. This would of course make it a whole lot easier to integrate Apache webservers into a single-signon Windows-desktop-based enterprise infrastructure, and would be a hugely popular development I would think :-)

Sorry sorry sorry sorry, OT, OT, OT ....
