Hi all,

I noticed that Samba 3 uses the hostname as password when using
"smbpasswd -a -m <host>" to generate the LM+NT hashes.
There was a time when these hashes were fixed (some obscure password
with lots of special characters).

So what should be used as initial password hashes? What is the
difference between NT 4 and 200/XP and will 2000/XP accept the old hashes?

Greetings,
Roland
