Domain Admins does not seem to be added automatically to Administrators built-in on XP upon joining a domain

Hi,

Someone I know who is using net groupmap ... to set up Domain Admins 
pointing to a local group has found that this does not seem to work.

However, if he manually adds DOMAIN\Domain Admins to the Administrators 
group on the XP workstation, things seem to work.

Is it a pilot error or a bug in XP or a registry setting or what?
