Accented uppercase problem

Hello,
I have the following problem: in my network there is an NT 4 file server
whose shares dirs I mount in my Linux desktop. Everything is OK except
for the files that contain accented characters *in uppercase*, ej. Á, É,
Ó, etc. When I do an "ls", the file names displayed don't contain the
accent, Á is replaced by just A, and so on. When I try to access those
files, an error is given saying that there is no file with that name,
thing that is true because the filename is different indeed.
I use Samba 3.0.1 compiled with libiconv 1.9.1.
The Kernel is 2.4.19 (suse 8.1)
my smb.conf has all the default values, and this for the charsets:
unix charset = ISO-8859-1
display charset = ISO-8859-1
dos charset = cp850
Anyone knows if there is something I can do to fix this missbehavior?
Thanks!
