Hi,

We are using samba version 2.2.8a.

We are observing below behaviour and we need some information regarding
this behaviour.

1.Upload win2K drivers onto samba server.
2.Download it on Win2K client.
3.Remove uploaded drivers from samba server and upload new drivers.
4.Now access the printer in win2K client.Win2K client will be start
fetching the newly uploaded files.Win2K client keeps the old file under
WINNT\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86\3\old.

Would like to know how Win2K client knows that driver on the samba
server is changed?
We have captured ethereal dump.We could see win2K client connects to
print$(tree connect message) and sends ntcreateandx request and
smbtrans2 request for w32x86\n\xxxdriverfiles.
On when all win2K client connect to print$.Will it periodically checks
the server for timestamp of the files downloaded from the server?

We have compared the behaviour win2kserver and win2K client. The
behaviour is same.

Would like to know how win2K client knows that driver on the server is
changed?

Thank you.

Regards,
V.Pradeepa.
