yes, you can do that

don't do that just yet. There are lots of unused files that will be
used soon (for example nmbd/*.c).

no, please don't remove nmbd/* and libads/*, as I expect that when
that functionality is added into Samba4 that the code will be mostly
the same. It will need to be modified quite a lot, but not replaced
completely.
