Support for Event Viewing from Windows Clients

I've been looking at trying to get various samba events through the event viewing facilities in windows clients -- not sure if anyone else is even interested in this. In 3.0.9, there are some registry entries that aren't supported that would need to be (this is from comparing ethereal dumps from a 3.0.9 server vs. a W2K server), looks like a EVTLOG type of RPC (well, ethereal picks it up at least) and what may be "ordinary" reads from the files themselves (or perhaps calls into LSA and some other places, not sure if I'm reading the ethereal dumps correctly).

The question is: Is this kind of work anticipated to be done for Samba_4 (perhaps at least support for a more generalized registry-like facility to enable values to be stored), or is anyone looking at this for Samba_3? I can see how to shoehorn at least the registry emulation stuff into Samba 3, but would this effort be wasted?

Thanks,
BK Moran
