The best advice I have is to upgrade.  Samba 2.2.x is
not being maintained anymore so I doubt you'll many people
willing to spend much time on this.  If you still experience
the problem with Samba 3.0.9, then please let us know
and we'll start looking for the bug.

You might try stopping smbd and just removning the
session.tdb.
